The Challenge: A Restless Mind
Meet Anshul, a 19-year-old design student juggling assignments, projects, and life’s everyday chaos. Like many others in his generation, Anshul finds himself overwhelmed by a constant barrage of distractions. He dreams of building habits that last and achieving the goals he sets for himself. But the reality is different—procrastination, impulsivity, and overcommitment leave him feeling stuck.
Anshul and his struggles
This is where Zap comes in—a digital companion designed to empower people like Anshul, to take control of their focus and mental well-being.
Understanding the Problem
Listening to the Users
The journey to create Zap started by diving into the lives of students like Anshul. Through affinity mapping, we uncovered recurring themes:
Feelings of guilt and frustration from unfinished tasks.
A desire for simple, actionable guidance to start their day.
The need for tools that track small victories and build motivation over time.

Stakeholder Mapping
We also conducted stakeholder mapping, identifying key players in this ecosystem:
Primary stakeholders: Students like Anshul, who directly face attention challenges.
Secondary stakeholders: Mentors and counselors who guide them.
Tertiary stakeholders: Platforms and institutions offering additional support.
These insights laid the foundation for building a tool that didn’t just solve problems but resonated emotionally with its users.
